Strong and Stable Structures

Students will explore the engineering behind bridges. Students will discover the factors that impact the strength of a structure and its ability to support a load. They will also learn about forces acting on structures and what material and construction techniques are used to add strength to structures.

Forces Causing Movement

Students will build a  wind-powered vehicle. Students will investigate the sail shape, area, and angle of the wind to effectively capture wind energy. They will focus on the core concepts of area, force, weight, measuring, and design.
